About

The Kayako WHMCS LoginShare add-on module will seamlessly synchronize your clients' login status of your Kayako SupportSuite or Kayako Esupport installation with your WHMCompleteSolution (WHMCS) billing center. Your clients will only have to log in once, to either one of the software packages, and they will automatically be logged in on both. When your clients log out on either Kayako or WHMCS, they will automatically log out on both.

This add-on module consists of only one file, which needs to be loaded in Kayako as a LoginShare module. No other tweaks or hacks are required on either your Kayako or WHMCompleteSolution installation.

It's easy to install, it's effective, it simply makes your clients' life easier!

May 30th, 2009: A new version has been released to ensure compatability with WHMCS 4.0x Stable and Kayako 3.50.06 Stable builds. The older version will no longer work with the new WHMCS 4.0x and customers are advised to upgrade immediately. Also note that the new version IS NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE WITH WHMCS 3.xx. An update is available for free if you have purchased the LoginShare in the past, please contact us with your PayPal or Moneybookers transaction ID and we will send you the update by email. Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: I have purchased the module, but haven't received it yet!
A: Our module is distributed manually, so it can take up to 24 hours for you to receive your files.
  • Q: I am getting the following error: "The encoded file ../support/includes/LoginShare/whmcs.login.php is corrupt."
A: Please make sure you follow the manual exactly. You have to upload that file in BINARY mode or you will get an error stating that the file has expired or is corrupt.
  • Q: What will happen to clients that already have Kayako accounts and that are also inside WHMCS?
A: If they have already registered under the same email address, they will still be able to log in but they will have to use the WHMCS password as their old Kayako password will no longer work. Also, their name will be updated in the database to make sure it is synced with the information in the WHMCS database.
  • Q: Is there a way for a user to change their email address in Kayako if they are logged in with their WHMCS login?
A: A LoginShare module is designed to use data from a different database, in this case the WHMCS database. Your users will have to change their email address (or passwords) in WHMCS.
  • Q: Is your loginshare encoded / can I modify the source ?
A: Our module is encoded with IonCube. Since you are running WHMCS you should already have the ioncube loaders installed. We cannot give out our source code since it contains undisclosed information on how WHMCS passwords and sessions are handled.
  • Q: Will your LoginShare work if Kayako and WHMCS are on totally different domains ?
A: The basic LoginShare feature will work. This means that if your users try to login on Kayako, it will fetch the information from the WHMCS database and will accept the login if it's a valid WHMCS login. However, the session share feature will not work. This means that the login status between Kayako and WHMCS isn't fully synced. For example: If a user logs in on WHMCS, your Kayako won't be able to detect that session and automatically login the user. The user will have to login manually on Kayako using their WHMCS login. This is because it's not possible for Kayako to read the session ID from the WHMCS cookie if Kayako and WHMCS are hosted on seperate top level domain names.
  • Q: Will this work with the existing Kayako integration module ?
A: No, our loginshare is not compatible with the existing Kayako integration module. Our LoginShare module is designed so you can completely replace the WHMCS support system by Kayako. You can modify your WHMCS templates and point the "Support Tickets" and "Submit Ticket" links to Kayako instead of WHMCS pages. This way your clients can use all of Kayako's features and the full client front-end of Kayako.
  • Q: Why am I getting the following error: "WHMCS API Error: Authentication Failed" ?
A: When you get the "Authentication Failed" message, it means Kayako is not given access to the WHMCS API. Make sure you enter the correct username and password of a WHMCS admin account into the WHMCS LoginShare settings page inside Kayako. This must be an account with full administrator rights. Also make sure your main server IP is added in WHMCS as step 11 of our manual explains.
  • Q: I'm having a problem not listed here ...
A: Contact us using the form below and give us the following information: Kayako and WHMCS version number and type of license, any error messages that you might be getting, any steps that we can take to recreate the problem, version number of the LoginShare that you are using, what steps you took to install the LoginShare, when the problem first occured, if your Kayako and WHMCS are in the same domain and subdomain, if you have any files protected by .htaccess, if you are running PHP as CGI/PHPSuExec or as an Apache module.
